Got my 1987 300zx bone stock rust free and running perfectly on a trade for my 04 GSXR 600 in 2018.
Got it home and had a flat tire right away so I got some s14 wheels and did some work over winter to prep for the '19 season. Harness bar, maxpeenrods coilovers (I'm broke don't judge me) and a welded diff.
Finally made it to my first drift day and my timbers were most definitely shivered. High tire pressure and more than enough clutch kicks to go around.
The 2020 season started good as always. Decided to get BC Coilovers. And tossed them peenrods. Got stage knight wheels and a set of G33s.
And then the season was over as fast as it started. Decided to pull the VG and go the typical LT1 cause I'm a square. (And I got a free Silverado) and I'm a personal victim of "while I'm in there" so got the LS in with home made engine mounts, z32 trans and just modified the Z32 trans mount to fit the z31 chassis, all LS1 accessories from the Camaro. And finally got rid of that trailing arm rear suspension for the s13 rear subframe, with s13 ISR arms in the rear and ISR tension rods up front and S13 BC coils.
Tried using the Silverado harness but I messed up somewhere spent 1.5 hours trying to figure out the wire harness and decided to buy a standalone harness so got the car to start, used the z31 throttle cable and got it to idle. But won't rev because I have way more air and fuel and the factory ECU can't handle it lol.
So whats left? We cut the trans tunnel and that needs to be patched, I need exhaust from the manifolds back ( Nic from Team Defiant out of Oshkosh WI made my custom manifolds), a tune, and body work. I have full s13 aero that will work but obviously needs work to fit, install the dash, get new carpet, door cards and various interior pieces, and chassis wiring. My goal is to make this as street car as possible.
Thanks for reading about a boring ugly chassis!
Cannot wait to see this thing come to completion.
