(Ill spell check this later, I wrote this while at work)
Welp, grab yourself a beer, some fish sticks and enjoy the painful journey I'm gonna take you on. This Journey is filled with blood, sweat, and lots of painful nights (add some panic attacks in there).
We can start it off with the previous car, here is the last version of my white coupe. For FB south I wasnt too motivted to drive (large events arent really my thing, i prefer smaller events) so I slapped whatever non-broken aero I had. I was always curious if Msports would flow with URAS, imo, with a bit of effort it can.
Unforunately luck wasnt on my side nor was common sense and I had a boop with my teammate Aaron. This shell was honestly a bit beat already and the boop was kinda the last ding for it to be retired. This shell went thru many different phases and I enjoyed them all. Lots of long lasting memories made in it that are important to me.
Here comes the story arc of El Maldita Pobreza! I had a coupe shell that i picked up from Clayton the summer before, the plan was to slowly reshell to thay car but the boop moved the timeline up.
New shell had oem quarters which has always been my dream, no rust, and overall in amazing condition besides the roof. Someone that hates my life added a sunroof to this shell many years ago, and ill never forgive them.
With the help of my roommate we finish transfering the drivetrain from the white car to this shell which took only about a day. After that i went on a side quest to paint the valve covers so i can experiment with the candy paint.
Then the roof swap process started... I had no clue what i was doing and i learned how to mig weld just to complete this. If I can do it, anyone can do it.
After that was more body work prep, and then finally time to paint the jambs and car!
Now, this is where things go HORRIBLY WRONG. Its been two days and im noticing that the clear isnt drying, im having an internal panic attack and the world is crashing around me. Seems like the company sent me a bad batch of hardener, and with my lack of experience i had no idea. The only proper solution was to strip the car down to bare metal and start again which i did. The disapointing part was that Javi helped me paint the car so now his hardwork was for nothing. This second time ill be on my own painting a car for the first time. I regret not painting the jambs again first but it was a learning experience and I will probably be painting the car again later in 2024. With candy you need to paint the car with the panels on but i dont have the space nor compressor for that, so we will with the results lol
This is where things get interesting, I wasnt quite happy with the silvia parts I had so I decided to put the silvia look on hold till I have the parts I want. I was able to get lucky and get a rep Bstyle 180 kit, as well as a red carbon msports hood again.
These next few photos will be the car mocked up, the glass installed
This week Ill have the car running under its own power and ill be back at work on paint prep as well as fiberglass repair duty. Interior wise I collected about 90% of the plastics so car will be running full interior as well.
The goal with this car has always been a pure street car that sees the track. A lot of inspo i gotten has been from the supermade cars, the LOOKING cars and that red Moccomans onevia.
Ill try to update this build thread as much as possible, I have a lot of little details that I need to do now that ill share in here as well! Ill finish this post with the specs on the car.
