Full timeline
Sept 2016 - Traded in a high milage e60 bmw for a new sporty daily driver.
Sometime in early 2017 I picked up a set of Enkei RS05RR and some eibach lowering springs (in hindsight they weren't nearly enough, feel free to bully). Also got a lip kit and valenti tail lights - I guess the lowering springs weren't starter kit enough. OpenFlash tablet OTS tune.
August 2017 Money burned a hole in my pocket, and I ended up picking up a second-hand Airlift 3p kit. (Pls bully me)
February 2018 Heard about this drifting thing, went to a Drift Central event in Marina, with awful 18f/17r stagger. Drove like shit as can be expected with bags and bad wheel setup. Also met the Uprise boys for the first time here (canon event).
May 2018 Blast pipes for my inner ricer
Summer 2018 side mission
July/August 2018 Removed the bags, switched to BC digressive extreme lows with 16k/12k spring rates. In hindsight I wasn't anywhere near low enough to need the rates. Also installed full PBM angle kit, and tested it out at Drift Central. 17x9.5+15 MB Battles
September 2018 Track day at Willow Springs and another drift central day. I got meatball flagged at willow springs because an underglow bar fell off and was dragging.
October 2018 Differential fluid change, around 30k mi at this point mixed daily and a couple track days.
November 2018 GOOD LUCK LEAGUE ENTERS THE SCENE, first time tandeming learned a TON at this event. Just before this event I installed Carbing front and rear strut bars.
February 2019 Still a daily at this point, we went on a long road trip, down highway 1 and then across to Vegas and Death Valley. It snowed, fun ensued. Around this time I was driving Drift Central every month as well.
May 2019 18x9.5+15/+23" MB Battles
May 2019 Spectated Final Bout Gallery, officially joined Uprise. It all goes downhill from here. Bayside boys had me GEEKING
May-September 2019 Drove a bunch with the boys, picked up a clone of the old Nameless 4-2-1 long tube header, got the rest of the PBM front/rear arms.
September 2019 GLL Ran out of talent, smacked tf out of Ian @longboi in a little brz-s13-brz sandwich. Luckily all of the damage was just aesthetic on my car, but Ian's car took a beating.
October 2019 Replaced bumper and fender, then swapped to 326power front lip. Slapped on a set of grenades, I think these are 18x9+23/+30. This was at Club Handz 2 or 3? Grange is so much fun, and I won a Momo steering wheel!
Halloween 2019 Goldstar/RunUp Show Shine Drive. Managed to crack one of the chrome grenades on the way to the thunderhill but KCam (@n.c.r.m.n.c.r on IG) had a pair of Gramlights 57c6 that I was able to borrow.
November 2019 GLL Twin Drift 1. It rained, but I drove with Erik (@super_handsome_brz) and had some really good runs. Also blew up my rear bumper with a little dirt drop.
January 2020 Testing out new aero ideas, this is Stillen skirts with 326power lip stacked underneath, and then a Varis front bumper. Would've been really cool but I was just holding the Varis bumper for a friend. Buddy Club P1s are 17x9+17
February 2020 Finally an interior picture. Works Bell hub with the Momo that I won at Club Handz, Bride Zeta IV driver, Zieg IV passsenger. I don't remember what brand the shift knob and drift button are...
Later February 2020 GLL, took a little bit of rear quarter damage you can see in this image, Justin bumped into me. Buddy Club P1s 17x9+17/+27
July 2020 I think this was a Super D event or something? I think Justin was struggling to do THill East with his KA so we drove small skid pad a bunch. Car was starting to look a little beat.
October 2020 Complete exterior refresh, first event with it was down at Grange for a private day hosted by Taylor,@Badmagc. The exterior pic is from a GLL day later in the month, since I totally forgot to get an exterior pic at Grange. Aero breakdown: Chargespeed Type 1 front bumper, Todoroki front fenders (with extension), Stillen side skirts and spats, Max Orido rear fenders, custom 1-of-1 youknowthefibe aero connector piece, modified RX-8 Ganadors.
December 2020 Super D NYE obligatory dog pic
July 2021 Bought Justin's Volk GT-S 18x9+12/18x10+23, this is a better picture of the full aero.
August 2021-March 2022 I guess I just didn't exist, I don't really have any pictures but I know I drove a couple events and stuff. Also RAF 1 happened.
April 2022 More aero changes, this time a Toyoshima Craft hood, and Uras 3rd Dimension wing.
Later April 2022 A tree fell near the car, but somehow no large branches hit the car. Not even a little door ding.
July 2022 Cracked the fender driving around my neighborhood. Also switched to Stance coilovers, with the TF custom build specs.
December 2022 Super D NYE. It rained, the torsen finally had enough. Couldn't drive THill East at all because the diff kept unlocking, but had some fun on the skid pad. Started looking at 1.5/2 way differential options.
March 2023 Installed a Jackson Racing Dual Radiator/Oil Cooler. It integrates an oil cooler into a radiator to make for a single drop in part which performs both duties. Very nice for drifting since the oil cooler stays very protected, and pretty easy installation process.
April 2023 I decided to wrap the car myself. Never doing that shit again, but it did turn out pretty good. Took me about a month of working on and off in the evenings and weekends. Finally kind of matching with the boys. Also custom made some shorter wing stands to match the roof line better. Finished the day before RAF 2.
Mid April 2023 Uprise was invited to Final Bout SSNW, which just happened to be 6 days after RAF 2. Quick little prep turn around, then drove the car up to Medford. I think these pictures were on the drive back.
July 2023 4.3 differential, Kaaz 2 way and ORC Twin Disk installed after some trials. For the diff, I used a discontinued gasket part when installing the Kaaz which promptly started leaking - replaced with RTV. When installing the clutch, we had trouble aligning the input shaft to the clutch and ended up cracking the innermost clutch disk and mushrooming the splines on the disk adapter piece (which made the transmission get stuck in the splines). Had to order a new disk and do some custom work on the spline adapter to make it fit onto the input shaft again. I don't have pictures of this because I wanted to die the entire time.
September 2023 Drove the to THill for DLux and snapped two axle inner CVs on the passenger side along the way. The 2 way allowed me to limp to THill on the driver axle and then Nikko was nice enough to tow me back. It was 105 degrees that day so I didn't diagnose at the track, but later I discovered that the passenger side upper control arm was loose near the subframe. I think it was allowing the wheel to move in and out enough to break the CV cage.
October 2023 Noticed a tiny puddle of oil under the front of the car. Timing cover was leaking pretty bad. Justin had just done his and convinced me it "wasn't that bad" to do without pulling the engine. It was. Would be much easier to pull the engine and then do it, cleaning the mating surfaces on the engine was difficult. If you're going to do in-car, I recommend getting a dremel with a flexible extension shaft and a bunch of brass wire wheels. You will be cleaning brass out of your garage for weeks, but it made quick work of the OEM RTV.
Future date TBD HKS Supercharger v3, EcuTek, FlexFuel system
This BRZ owner definitely eats glue!!!!
