Starting a new thread for KA-T setups!
Definitely the cheapest/simplest setup for S chassis's that want some power IMO
I think I have about the simplest setup possible minus a couple pieces I decided to do with plans to go further.
All in all I'm about 7k into my setup. I have seen cheaper setups but around 6-7k is gonna give you a reliable setup with good power.
My Setup
220k s13 Ka
Head Rebuilt w/Tomei MLS Headgasket
EcuMasters EMU Black w/PNP adapter (stock engine harness)
ISR Manifold w/ OEM Garret s15 T28 (Nordlock Washers)
ISR FMIC & Charge pipes (Welded GM Iat bung)
Tial Blowoff valve
Warlboro 255lph Fuel Pump
RB 550cc injectors
That is about all of the major part that cost the most. There are a lot of parts that are small like the fittings, hoses, couplers, hardware, and some unrelated things like gauges or the battery relocation. I have a few pictures showing some of the process.
If y'all have any question about those smaller parts ask away.
This is my 1995 240sx Ka24de turbo. a little backstory, in 2022 i drifted my car with this 110k mile stock unopened ka, driving to and from events, and even some daily driving. it was great. super reliable, and honestly peppy for an N.A. 4 cylinder, but at the end of the season, i was left wanting more power.
i did probably too much research on ka t setups, but i believe this is a solid turbo setup you can piece together for a great mix of performance and reliability . the biggest thing for me was discovering how choked up the ka gets with a t2 framed turbo. ka24de moves a lot of air being a 2.4 liter engine, so it needs a big turbo to move all that air and not create so much heat in the cylinders. this will also aid in keeping down detonation.
that said, i decided to go with a pulsar psr3071 (gtx3071 rep) turbo with a .82 a/r housing. i feel this turbo meets all my wants and needs; it spools up well before 4k rpm, and pulls hard all the way to limiter, but you can't turbo an engine without supporting mods. my ultimate goal was retaining whatever reliability i could, and that meant to me making a fool proof but also simple setup. this is it.

Cx Racing top mount manifold(junk)
after about 3k street miles and one event, i've only found 2 issues with it that will be addressed over this winter. for starters, do not waste your money on a cx manifold. i got mine second hand for $100 which is the only justification for using it, but it will be going in the bin when i get a new tig welded american made manifold. the reason i say its junk is because it will crack, again and again. not very reliable if you ask me, but it was what i had with my smaller budget, and the car is still driveable even with the cracks. secondly, and this is mainly installer error, using barb fittings for the wastegate reference line. the vacuum line will pop off randomly, which we can't be having for reliability and driveability sake. i will be converting it to an.
all in all, ka24de is a great platform for s chassis and i can't wait for more people to find that out! excuse my super dirty bumper, they were doing construction on my street.
forgot to mention a third issue i had. when hitting limiter in drift, the car was having ignition signal drop out, causing iginition cut. my tuner advised me to swap the trigger disk in my distributor to the aem one (aem30-8760). since doing so and resetting base timing, it's gone away.
