Hi all, would like to field a general discussion about drifting with no power steering. I removed mine after losing the battle to keep fluid from leaking out of various points in the system. my first shakedown without power steering proved that it is indeed a burden to drift with. I am also running ~7deg of caster up front now which I believe to be excessive now, the car self-steers at the speed of light and it is almost dangerous trying to catch the wheel. This is also in conjunction with a 320mm steering wheel, my plan moving forward is to reduce caster to a ~4deg and get a 350mm momo. I would like to keep p/s off the car for the sake of simplification, so I'd love to hear how others have set up their cars without power steering. thanks!

Update. Last weekend I had my first event in the new car. Tried a little more caster out of curiosity…set up was as follows. Depowered rack, 350mm steering wheel, FRONT: -6 camber, 6caster, a tiny amount of toe out. REAR: -1 camber and a small amount of toe in.
Car was VERY hard to drive and required a ton of effort. Did the same thing mentioned in your OP and feeding the wheel out if turns took an insane amount of effort; bad enough that i got blisters haha. I learned to drive around it, but it will he fixed before the next event.
I will definitely be reducing front caster to 4.5-5. Should provide enough self steer on transitions and make feeding the wheel “normal”. I MIGHT make rear toe zero as well. Once re-aligned and tested ill report back with my alignment sheets feeback.
Long story short, reduce self steer and improve “parking lot” speed driving effort.
